Mondays from 4-8 pm Chess Instructions
Chuck Shaw give free instructions on tournament chess for ages 5 to 18 years old. It is a free program and you do not have to bring anything. All are welcome and there is no minimum or maximum number of young people who can come. You do not have to be accompanied by a parent or adult.
Lee Carter Paintings on Display
Reception on Saturday, April 17 from noon to 2 pm. Prints will be on sale at that time. The paintings hanging on the wall are done by Lee Carter, a local artist. His theme is the Road to Freddom Collection. He started painting in his 60-'s when he became interested in art for a drawing class. His paintings will be on display in April and May in the library. The collection has pictures about slavery and the Underground Railroad. There is a book with the explanations about each painting.
Friends of the Library meeting The Coatesville Area Public Library is hosting a friends of the library meeting on Thurs May 13 at 7 pm. This group just got started and is full of energy and ideas for library help. The meeting is held downstairs at 501 E Lincoln Highway in Coatesville. If you become a charter member, you will get the benefit of not paying fines or fees to the library for 1 year. Please join us to meet new people and help support the library.
