Library Card Information
You are eligible for a free library card if you live in Pennsylvania. If you are not a Pennsylvania resident, you still qualify for a free library card if you work or attend school in Chester County.
Borrowing and Returning Materials
- You may borrow most material for three weeks. DVDs and rental books are exceptions to this rule.
- By placing holds in the catalog, you may have any circulating item in any of the 18 Chester County Library System libraries sent to the System library of your choice for pick-up.
- You may not renew items with holds.
- Rental and overdue items must be renewed in person or by calling Circulation at 610-644-0138.
Renewal Terms (for items that circulate for 3 weeks)
- First Checkout: 3 weeks
- First Renewal: 3 weeks
- Second Renewal: 1 week
How to Renew
1. Call the Automated Telephone Renewal Service at 610-280-BOOK (2665).
2. Call the Circulation Department at 610-644-0138.
3. In person at any library in the Chester County Library System.
4. For more information, select Renew or Place a Hold Online.
You are responsible for overdue fines and replacement costs of lost or damaged materials borrowed on your card. Patrons requiring special accommodations may be served immediately upon request. Easttown Library materials may be returned to any Chester County public library. A book deposit, located next to the main entrance, is available for the return of materials at any time.
