Spring City Public Library "Read & Seed”
The Spring City Public Library is hosting: Read & Seed: A Gala to Sow Community Renewal
, on September 11th, 2015, 6 PM – 8 PM. Mike McGrath of You Bet Your Garden on WHYY will be the featured speaker.
The event will focus on education, agriculture, and the arts as forces that revitalize a community. Local chefs will prepare local, farm-fresh foods to illustrate the vibrancy of the Farm to Table movement and its impact on the region. Local businesses will have the opportunity to contribute to the festivities and be represented as partners in area renewal.
Tickets are $100 per person, a tax deductible donation to the Spring City Library, and are available at the Spring City Library.
Chester County Department of Emergency Services released its new mass notification system: ReadyChesCo. This replaces ReadyNotifyPA (for the public). Some of the enhancements include:
- The ability to specify how you want to be contacted. Do you prefer a telephone call before being text messaged? You control the order in which you are notified.
- Automated weather alerts based on the addresses you provide.
- Better reliability in alerting. With the new system you'll receive true SMS text messages.
