  • Academy of Natural Sciences: Founded in 1812, the Academy of Natural Sciences of Drexel University is a leading natural history museum dedicated to understanding the natural world and inspiring everyone to care for it.
  • CIA World Factbook: The World Factbook provides basic intelligence on the history, people, government, economy, energy, geography, environment, communications, transportation, military, terrorism, and transnational issues for 266 world entities.
  • How Stuff Works: Explains in simple terms with diagrams or pictures how many common appliances, machines, and technologies work, also covers health, home and animals.
  • Math & Reading Help: Offers early readers interactive, enjoyable games to improve reading (and math). Parents will find an extensive online library of articles on education, notably on homework and tutoring.
  • Reading is Fundamental: Long known for providing (free) books to families who need them, presents games, interactive stories, songs, and book recommendations for kids up to age 12 and their families, including bilingual activities.
  • Reading Rockets: WETA Public Television’s site for games and activities for kids’ pleasure and learning. Parents, teachers, and other adults can access instructional videos, a blog, PBS TV programs, and videos to guide them in helping children learn to read.
  • Seussville: Children get to enjoy reading-based interactive games and activities featuring his classic books and characters. The site includes a character guide, book catalogue, Seuss biography, tips for parents and resources for teachers.
  • Wolfram Alpha:Computes expert-level answers on a broad range of topics using algorithms, a vast knowledgebase and AI technology.

  • AARP: (American Association of Retired Persons) provides news, tips, and information about health, leisure, and money.
  • Chester County Maternal & Child Health: Chester County Health Department links to various resources and programs that promote the health and wellness of mothers, infants and children.
  • Chester County Parks & Preservation: Find a list of all parks and trails in Chester County as well as guidance on how everyone can use and enjoy these natural resources safely.
  • Chester County Resources for Children with Special Needs: Lists include evaluation, funding and care services. The Chester County Health Department does not endorse any particular listed agencies, but hopes that this resource guide will offer choices of available services to individuals and families.
  • Children & Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (CHADD): Resources and advocacy for understanding and getting support for ADHD.
  • EatRightPA: PA Dietetic Association links to PA Growth Screening Program Information & other nutrition information - it is the advocate of the dietetics profession serving the public through the promotion of optimal nutrition, health and well being.
  • GetNetWise: Is a public service which tries to help ensure that Internet users have safe, constructive, and educational or entertaining online experiences. The GetNetWise coalition wants Internet users to be just "one click away" from the resources they need to make informed decisions about their and their family's use of the Internet.

  • Idealist.Org: Volunteer Opportunities Worldwide, a nonprofit organization that promotes the sharing of ideas, information and resources.
  • KidSource Online: An excellent resource for news and information on children's health, education, and safety. Included are articles, newsletters, forums, book and software reviews, and more.
  • Local Farm Products Guide: The Chester County Ag Council’s annual Guide to Local Farm Products for over 125 farms and retail outlets selling locally grown goodness.
  • PA Advocates for Nutrition & Activity: Links to Keystone Health Zones, PA Growth Screening Program and more health, nutrition and activities for parents and families.
  • PA Department of Education’s List of Schools: Lists and provides data on the various schools in the Commonwealth, including public, private and charter schools; colleges, universities and more. Also lists homeschooling resources.
  • PA DHS Early Childhood Education: Resources form the Office of Child Development and Early Learning (OCDEL).
  • PBS Parents: Trusted online resource that's filled with information about your child's development from birth through the early school years. Created with input from experts in child psychology, early childhood education, media and other fields, PBS Parents provides the answers you need to be your child's first, best teacher.
  • ReferWeb: Is the Information and Referral Internet application for the Chester County Department of Human Services. Refer Web is for anyone who would like to or needs to gain more information about health and human services available in Chester County.
